Once your wedding license has been recorded, Utah County’s system will generate the final legal certificate and email that to you, normally within a few minutes to a few hours after the wedding has been completed. See how much this might cost to get the apostille copy.
When you get the email with the final certificate, you may then order the apostille. Follow the directions below to order your apostilled copies.
PLEASE NOTE: Utah County has updated their Apostille ordering system and now requires you to upload a picture of your ID and a selfie for authorized purchases of all vital records (marriage license copies).
Click the button above to follow along step by step. This will open their page in a new window.
Click the Search Marriage Records button to begin the process.
Note the new Required Information dropdowns above the Search Marriage Records button!
On the next screen, begin by filling in your name on the search form as Lastname, Firstname and click Search.
Look for your name in the list displayed and click on the first name listed in blue. If you don’t see your name, check the spelling and try again. Be very sure you are clicking on the correct name and marriage date.
3. Your name and that of your spouse, marriage license number and date of ceremony will be displayed. Click the button labeled “Place Order”
This new options page allows you to choose what you would like to order and bundle more than one order type into your cart for easier processing and shipping choices. In this case, we will order two apostilles for our hypothetical couple who are from the UK and the Philippines.
Fill in the information and choose the options for the first apostilled copy. If you are using the document in more than one country, you can now order for multiple countries at once. In this case, we are choosing to ship the final copy to the Philippines.
There is an option here to pay close attention to. Some countries require the original license application to be attached to the apostille. This is where to order that option – “Include Copy of Marriage Application” – you would choose Yes.
Now you can see that at the top right of the page, your cart will show 1 item in it. Now we will fill in the information for the second copy. In this case, it is for use in the United Kingdom. We also want the application attached to the apostilled copy. You can see my previous address in the Philippines is also saved near the shipping address options. Clicking this button will fill in the saved address.
However, we want to see how much it will cost to go to the UK also.
We continue with the form by filling in the shipping and billing information for this order to be shipped to the UK. Here we choose to add it to the cart with shipping for two different countries.
Clicking on the “View Cart” option at the top right shows all the orders and shipping addresses. In this case, we could simply proceed, and two apostilled certificates will be shipped to two addresses in two different countries. This would cost our couple $175 total. ($80 x2 + $15 processing fee)
In this case, we can see it will be expensive to do this, so we can edit one of our addresses so that both documents are shipped to the same location. Within the cart, clicking on the blue pencil allows us to edit the address so that the copy for the Philippines will be shipped to the UK also. Now our shipping is only $50 for both documents.
Now we are ready to check out! Have your identifying photos ready to upload into the cart. This is where we will upload the images, and provide the contact and billing information for the final card transaction page.
A small transaction fee is included here for the credit or debit card processing. You will see these fees before you submit your card for payment. Filling in the credit card details and clicking “Submit” will finalize the order.
Please note that this process may take up to 15-20 business days to complete. In real time, this may translate to 3-4 weeks or more for your documents to arrive.
