Steps to Getting Married Online – 2. Get a Marriage License

One person starts the process by going to the Utah County Clerk Marriage website and opening an application. You can find out more about this process on my FAQ page – How Do I get Married Online?

The Utah County marriage license does not require couples (either party) to be a US citizen. The only document you need is one form of photo identification each! This could be a passport, a drivers license, or simply a government issued ID card. The ID needs to have your full name, your birthdate, and your photo. It must be a currently valid form of ID, not expired or temporary.

Steps to Getting Married Online – 3. Have your Ceremony!

When you book a ceremony, you’ll receive a link to your Zoom conference. Send this link to your friends and family! Don’t forget you need invite two people over the age of 18 to be your legal witnesses! Read more about that on my Online Wedding Witnesses & Guests page

Steps to Getting Married Online – That’s It! You’re legally married!

Your digital certificate will be delivered to your email address within a few minutes to a few hours. Your paper certificate will be mailed or shipped from Utah County within three business days of your ceremony completion. If you need an apostille, you may order that from Utah County.
